Audi FIS Ski Weltcup in Gosau
The Ski Event of the Year
On December 28 and 29, 2026, the Dachsteinkönig takes front-row seats to world-class sport! Right on our doorstep, on the Hornspitz downhill run in Gosau, the Women’s FIS Ski World Cup will be held here for the first time – the world’s best ski racers will battle it out in giant slalom and slalom for World Cup points, and you’ll be right there to see it live.

The Ski resort
The Dachstein West ski resort offers around 160 kilometers of slopes – only about 2 km of which are needed for the World Cup. Of course, by far the largest part of the ski resort remains fully available to you without restriction. The ride up with the Hornspitzbahn 1 lift will naturally run as normal on both race days.
Overview at a glance
- The Ötscherlift (button lift) will operate as usual, and Freddyland for kids — where the beginner ski lessons also take place — is open every day right in front of the hotel for your little slope-shredders.
- In the week before the World Cup, the Hornspitz 1 valley run will be closed for race preparations (except on the race days themselves). During this time, you can still comfortably get down to the valley via the Hornspitzbahn 1 lift, or via Panoramajet/Zwieselalm or Russbach.
- After descending to the Panoramajet valley station, our Dachsteinkönig hotel shuttle service will bring you back to the hotel. There are also additional public shuttle buses running between the Hornspitz 1 valley station and the connecting lifts Hornspitzbahn Russbach and Panoramajet.
- From December 30 onward, normal ski operations — including the valley run — will be fully available again.
The perfect view
Prefer to enjoy the race in a more relaxed atmosphere rather than right in the middle of it? Our hotel bar and our new à la carte restaurant Firedeck also offer you the perfect view of the slope.
